Soundtrack & Music Director – Whitney Rehr
Whitney Rehr – BA Spanish – Hamilton College, New York, USA . A natural musician and linguist, Whitney has always heard her world as she sees it. A lifelong performer, self-taught composer and instrumentalist, she has found herself on many stages; fronting and supporting live and recording projects in the USA, and, over the last 15 years collaborating with international musicians in performance and recording of the Naad – the Sacred Sound Current. As a Kundalini Yoga practitioner and teacher, Whitney has made music with dozens of internationally acclaimed recording and touring artists in this forum. The music is both popular and ancient, originating in Indian and Sikh culture and now contemporarily adapted by Western yogis and musicians. Bilingual in Spanish, her year abroad in Spain and second residence in Mexico for 23 years have greatly influenced her style and sensibility to music, culture, language and soundscape. She has collaborated as music director and live soundtrack performer in an original theatre production by playwriter, Craig Osterberg, at San Francisco’s Rhinoceros theatre in 2000. She accompanies yoga and meditation classes and workshops throughout the country as musician and teacher. Still wondering why, the music credits are last, she is forever a film and music aficionado and perceives the two art forms as intrinsic to one another.
